FAQ:

Q: How did you get started?

A: Please see About Cliff Nietvelt

Q: What is your mission?

A: I hope to make others aware of both the beauty and threats to our natural world. I am a full-time wildlife biologist and photographer, and I feel that research and science are not enough to make people aware of our environmental problems. Biologists have the advantage of knowing what our problems are and what needs to be done. This needs to be clearly communicated to the general public. The general public and or decision makers do not read scientific journals or technical reports. Popular media is a much more powerful tool. I hope that through media, such as photography and popular writing, that the general public gains both an appreciation for nature as well as an awareness that not all is well. Public opinion creates the pressure (political) needed to protect what we have left. Without public buy-in, I'm afraid there is little hope.
